No one was bigger than The Beatles. They are the essence of popular culture since the exploded onto the scene. The Beatle Bop got started when these boys from Liverpool became a world-wide phenomenon, and transcended into the mainstream throughout the '70s. They transformed a generation and were the standard for what was "cool." Everywhere they went turned into hysteria, and their impact on society will forever be remembered.

I was enthralled in the documentary "Get Back" when it was posted on Disney+. I was fascinated at what made the music group so successful. It was clear, the driving force in the band was the members. John Lennon was nothing short of a genius. Paul McCartney was the man that kept the group together. Ringo Starr was the beat that kept The Beatles together. George Harrison provided perspective on the true vision of the team.

I had heard the music ('Let it Be' will forever be one of my favorite songs of all time) but I was more interested in the dynamic behind the music. The group had a deadline, they had about a month to create and record an entire album. They were then to perform on some platform that lived up to their reputation.

They came together to make another legendary soundtrack that shocked the world. Classics like 'Get Back' and 'I've Got A Feeling' highlighted the reel, but the creation drew my interest. It seemed John changed from the blueprints to the recording studio. Paul tried to keep the band on track. Ringo fell into the background. And George left in the middle of production. This was not the seamless syndication I had expected.

The documentary concluded with a performance. All of their hard work had paid off and it was finally time to share their masterpiece with the world. They had decided to show the world their art from on top of a bar in the middle of London. I had heard the stories, and understood the legend, but was still left disappointed. I had heard of their rooftop performance and its mark on history, but expected more. They merely recorded to live songs, and then cowered because local police had shutdown the concert. I was under the impression that with the drawing crowd, they would perform some fan favorites, and rock the world. However, they played 2 songs over and over, under the surprised atmosphere of their audience.

Another artist, Justin Timberlake, recently tweeted that he would deliver a impromptu concert at a local park in Memphis Tennessee. He brought droves of fans and created a buzz on social media. I can only imagine what The Beatles could have done with their fan frenzy. The Beatles have been nothing but exceptional, and now the world is forced to appreciate the legacy, wondering what could have been today.
