"I am writing this letter to tell you of my relationship and knowledge of TJ Barr. I met Mr. Barr, as I was conducting interviews, for a position here at Chambers Bay Golf Course. He was hired on as a seasonal staffer early in 2022 and was an asset to our team right away. TJ has been very professional, well-spoken and an easy hire to make. I am very pleased to tell you that TJ has been one of our stand out staff members here at Chambers Bay this past season. As his direct supervisor, I have gotten to know TJ well, and have been highly impressed with many of his traits. TJ has been dependable, great with people and a good teammate. He has always brought a great attitude and is a true leader. His real time to shine, was in preparation of the US Women’s Amateur Championship. "I have known TJ since he was young. He came up through my Cub scout Pack and then Boy Scout Troop. I have had a great opportunity to watch him grow and develop and would recommend TJ for anything he wants to accomplish.
As a member of my Boy Scout Troop TJ developed a great set of leadership tools. He was always at the forefront of the organization and wanted to take on many things, including advanced leadership training. TJ was always very well-liked and his immediate peers and the troop saw the leadership potential in him. He developed a very large project for his Eagle Scout rank that benefited one of our area parks and you can still see the results of that in place today.
Most Scouts, once they "mature out" move on to other things but what makes TJ special is that he came back to the Troop as a young adult and signed on in an Assistant Scoutmaster role, where he still continued to mentor and train new youth in the same things he learned when he was in their place. I have been able to observe him in this role and TJ has the heart of a Servant Leader, often putting others ahead of his own needs.
I am very grateful to have known TJ and again, I would recommend him for any tasks great or small that he takes on. I know others and other organizations will benefit from knowing TJ as I have."
