Hard to remember ... the 2010 Rose Bowl ... but it is even harder to remember a more consequential game than Ducks vs Buckeyes rematch last weekend. Newley enshrined into the BIG 10, which now hosts 18 fucking teams, Autzen Stadium welcomed the #2 team with its classic chorus... SHOUT!

Belushi would be proud.

Sittin at #3, everyone was standing as the seconds ticked down to a slide and a Dub that brought the program to new heights. College Gameday showed up and the Ducks represented at 4 in the morning. Puddles rolled in driving a yellow Corvette. They shaved a kids' head. Even Sydney Sweeney got in on the Quaction.

Her ticket is at Will Call... but there is also a roster spot for Hawk-Tuah.

In the biggest game in Duck history, a Bonehead made a bad look for the stylish swagger the Quacks are known for. In the second quarter, Traeshon Holden SPIT ON A GUY!!! HE GOT EJECTED!!!!!!!!

The game of the week, the game of the year, the game of the program... he makes an error that blows his shot at his salivation... VICTORY. Sportsmanship plagues the program and this was the manifestation of public Duck derision. Big attention, big money, big facilities and we mock the essence of genuine competition. Clearly he got caught up in the moment. This is the biggest game of his life. And as he is ushered to the locker room, he was forced to turn his back to the team. This is the despicable example the sports community abhors.

Regardless, Oregon had a game to win, and at halftime I said to myself "well that was weird." The first Buckeye drive got an unreviewed interception that led to an opening touchdown. The second Buckeye drive the running back basically just gave the ball to the defender. Ducks bobbled an extra point and missed a field goal. And as I'm drowning my nerves... a kickoff drills the front man for a recovery that reminded me of the Waterboy

Anyway, I guess, the second half is a little more typical but Eugene is roaring with a sellout record-setting crowd of 60,129. But in the final minute, I saw a call that left my head scratching. It will go down in history as 'The Lanning Rule.'

Dan Lanning, the Oregon Duck head coach, boldly fields 12 players on defense which is usually a coaching blunder. However, it exemplifies his genius. With an extra player, he eliminated a chance of offensive success while shaving a precious 4 seconds off the clock. Giving up 5 yards was inconsequential, and quarterback Will Howard squandered a chance for a field goal sliding as the clock hit O's. Duck fans waddled onto the field and 'THE' left the game in peril.

The game is hard. And I'm not talking about the field. I always appreciated the rise of the Oregon Duck program. The 1995 Rose Bowl was the catalyst that put Eugene on the map. The catalyst in question, for me, for the love of the team stemmed from my relationship with Lily, a cheerleader on the team. It ended like any season, but I suffered trying to get back in the field. What did she do to me? She made it hard to root for the team, at the game she was in, on TV, and in the back of my mind every time I watched a Duck game. Ohio State vs Oregon Ducks was the catalyst for me to reinvigorate my passion for sport, Duck brilliance, and appreciate the cuties on the sideline with they're pompoms. Frankly, following the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders on Facebook helps me get through the morning. SCO DUCKS!
